Sogexia accounts do not allow overdrafts.
However, while overdrawing your account is generally not possible with Sogexia, your balance may occasionally become negative in rare cases, such as:
- Merchant-forced transaction: Some transactions may be processed even if your balance is insufficient.
- Exchange rate fluctuation: If a foreign currency transaction is authorised and later settled with a modified exchange rate, this can result in a negative balance.
- Payment on an offline terminal: Transactions made on offline terminals may temporarily cause your account to go into overdraft.
If your balance becomes negative, top up your account immediately with the required amount to restore a positive or zero balance.
Consequences of a negative balance
Unlike a traditional bank account, Sogexia does not charge overdraft fees for a temporary negative balance. However, you must top up your account as soon as possible. Failure to do so may result in debt recovery proceedings being initiated.
